Response of String Beans (Vigna unguiculata subsp sesquipedalis L.) on Saline Soil Amended with Vermicompost

Vigna unguiculata subsp sesquipedalis L. also known as string beans/pole sitao is one of the major vegetable crop produced in Philippines all year round because its adaptability to types soils except for saline soil. Thus, response soil amended with vermicompost was determined. Growth and yield pole applied varying amount obtained. Level nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium pH were tested before after application. The study laid out Randomized Complete Block Design, composed 5 treatments replicated 4 times. were: T1-100% Garden soil, T2-100% Saline T3-75% 25% Vermicompost, T4-50% 50% T5-75% Vermicompost All data gathered analyzed using T-test ANOVA. Generally, helps decreasing salinity, increasing content root length. To increase sitao's biomass, addition 75% recommended.
